Lake Oconee Family Dental supports Heart & Soul Gala

The St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital Heart and Soul Gala Committee recently recognized dentist Michael Miller, DDS, and his wife Tonya for their support of the gala, to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee in February 2018. This is their second year sponsoring the biggest fundraiser for the hospital.

Dr. Miller’s practice, Lake Oconee Family Dental, is located in Lake Oconee Village just off of Linger Longer Road and Founder’s Row. He is a Tennessee native and has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years. He and Tonya moved to the lake area in the spring of 2015.

“Moving here from Austin required some adjustment but we could not be happier,” said Tonya. “It’s hard to believe we have been here for over two years. We are very thankful for the wonderful people of this community that have gone above and beyond in welcoming us to Lake Oconee.”

“The hospital being here locally for the residents is definitely a key component to the area and will continue to draw even more people to this beautiful place,” said Dr. Miller. “We see the gala as an opportunity to reciprocate the support we have received which has guided the success of our dental practice. Knowing so many people rely on the hospital, we are excited to see the growth of St Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital.”

Aside from supporting the hospital, the Millers give back by supporting other charities in the community. Dr. Miller is involved in the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam County. He and Tonya are both board members of the local Circle of Love, which supports the victims of domestic violence, members of the Oconee Performing Arts Society, and also supporters of the PeteNance Boys & Girls Club and Atlas.

“We know we have been blessed and want to give back in as many ways as we can,” said Dr. Miller.

“Businesses are the threads that unite our community, and the presence of a strong healthcare system is one of the main contributing factors to the economic development of our area,” said Riezl Baker, Gala Event Chair and Good Samaritan Foundation board member. “The hospital board appreciates the generosity of Dr. Miller and Tonya and all of our supportive local businesses.”
