Jim and Susan Tuller support Heart & Soul Gala
Jim and Susan Tuller of Eatonton have signed on as Supporting Sponsors of the 2018 Heart & Soul Gala, the biggest fund-raising event of the year for St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital.
“We fully support this hospital after Jim was treated in the emergency room,” says Susan. “He almost cut his thumb off with his table saw. We were very impressed with the caring, professional staff that we met that night. To look at his thumb today, you would never know that he had injured it.
“We have also had numerous medical tests done at the hospital and at all times the staff has been very professional, very good at explaining the procedures, and caring,” Susan adds.
The Tullers moved to the lake area about 13 years ago, coming to Georgia from Connecticut to be close to their daughter. She later married a Captain in the US Army and is now living in the Savannah area, but by then the Tullers had fallen in love with the community, Southern culture, and the region’s short, mild winters.
“We love this area and want to see it prosper,” Susan said. “We feel a quality local hospital is an important asset not only to us, but to the whole region.”
Jim is a proposal development engineer with Siemens Engine Business. Susan is a retired nurse and social worker who devoted 10 years of her career to providing hospice care in several local counties, including Putnam and Greene.
“The support of caring people like Jim and Susan is vital to the ability of St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital to continue to provide leading-edge care rarely found outside of major metropolitan centers,” said Riezl Baker, foundation board member and chair of the Heart & Soul organizing committee. “We are so grateful to them and to all of our sponsors for supporting our local hospital.”
The 2018 Heart & Soul Gala will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee. The black-tie event will include dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions. All proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. Tickets will be available in November, but sponsorship opportunities are available now.
