Jim and Christa Hyatt sponsor Heart & Soul Gala
Christa and Jim Hyatt have joined the growing list of community members who are signing up as sponsors of the Heart and Soul Gala, a major fundraiser for St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. The Gala will be held on Feb. 1 at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee.
The Hyatts, who are members of the St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Foundation’s Founder’s and Patron’s Societies, have lived in many places including New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles. They found their way to Reynolds Lake Oconee while staying at the Ritz Carlton in 2006. Since then, they’ve transitioned into full-time Lake Oconee residents.
They realized the importance of having quality healthcare in the area after seeing their son persevere through medical school, residency and fellowship. This, and the easy access to a first-class healthcare facility, became a priority to them. The Hyatts appreciate the fact that Good Samaritan Hospital is only a few minutes’ drive in case of an emergency. They also appreciate the outreach that the hospital provides to those who cannot afford medical care.
Jim and Christa have supported the 2014, 2016, and 2018 Galas as major sponsors, and Christa has been an integral part of the Heart and Soul Gala organizing committee since the event’s inception.
“The event is truly a labor of love and I am honored to be involved for the past six years,” Christa said. “I am so grateful to give back to the community by supporting something that is very important to everyone – the availability of good healthcare.”
“We are grateful to community members like the Hyatts who have generously given their time and resources to support the Gala since its inception,” said Sherri Kerstetter, Gala Committee Chair. “It’s people like them, who believe in giving back and sharing their time and talent, that make this a great community to live and work.”
