Saint Joseph's East Georgia Receives Top Joint Commission Acceditation

GREENSBORO (July 23, 2010) – St. Joseph's East (SJEG) is proud to announce its successful completion of the Joint Commission survey that recognizes the hospital as a top-quality care facility.

The Joint Commission (TJC) surveyors conducted an unannounced 2-day visit of the 25-bed hospital in June. During that time, they evaluated everything from patient care to the proper location of exit signs. TJC cites its mission as, "To continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value.”

A Joint Commission accreditation is not required by the state, but affirms the hospital provides the highest quality and safest care for its patients. The successful survey reflects the broad expertise of the SJEG staff. The accreditation is good for three years, at which time the hospital will undergo another unannounced survey to determine continued accreditation.

“We are incredibly proud of our medical staff and employees for earning this great accomplishment,” says Mike Huff, President of St. Joseph's East. “Patients come to a hospital for the highest quality care and this is more proof that we are providing that for our community.”
